Safety Tips
Your safety is our priority. Follow these guidelines for secure transactions.
⚠️ Remember: SellMyID.com is a platform that connects buyers and sellers. We do not participate in transactions or guarantee the condition of any item. Always exercise caution and use common sense.
🤝 Meet in Public, Safe Places
- •Always meet buyers/sellers in busy public places — shopping malls, cafes, markets.
- •Avoid meeting at home or in isolated areas, especially for first meetings.
- •Daytime meetings are safer than meeting at night.
- •Let a friend or family member know where you're going.
🔍 Inspect Before You Pay
- •Always test and verify the item condition in person before handing over money.
- •For electronics, check the item is working and matches the description.
- •Verify serial numbers for phones/laptops — ask for original bill if possible.
- •Don't let sellers rush you. Take your time.
💰 Never Pay in Advance
- •Do not send money via UPI, bank transfer, or any method before seeing the item.
- •Be cautious of offers that are 'too good to be true' — they usually are.
- •Never share your OTP, CVV, or bank PIN with anyone.
- •SellMyID.com never asks for payment for listing or verifying accounts.
🆔 Verify Seller/Buyer Identity
- •Look for the ✓ Verified badge — it means the user's mobile is verified.
- •Check trust scores and reviews before high-value transactions.
- •Ask for a government-issued ID for large purchases (vehicles, real estate).
- •Be wary of new accounts with no history for expensive items.
🚗 Vehicle & Real Estate Safety
- •Always verify vehicle papers (RC, insurance, PUC) before buying.
- •Consult a lawyer before any property transaction.
- •Never transfer ownership documents without full payment.
- •Use an RTO official channel for vehicle transfers.
